I was photographing all my creative writing MA notes so that I can chuck them out and I found one with a nice piece of insight scribbled onto it. I didn’t write down who said it or who/if they were quoting (bad student), but it goes as follows:
Writing is a disappearing act… Write prose until it is as clear as a piece of glass. Become invisible.
Camp NaNo starts today and I’m going to keep that in mind while I fight back the adverbs. I’ve dropped my word count goal to 10,000 because this month is probably going to be a lot more hectic than I anticipated, but I aim to exceed that number if possible.
